Workshop on emerging risk identifiation
On 6 December 2023, between 10:00 and 15:00, the University of Veterinary Medicine and the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) held a joint workshop on the identification of emerging risks.

In the first half of the workshop, Dr. Ákos Józwiak and Dr. Zsuzsa Farkas from the Department of Digital Food Science gave presentations on emerging risks, drivers affecting the food chain and their identification. In addition to general knowledge, the participants were also introduced to the mysteries of data analysis and case studies of emerging risks identified by the Department were presented, mainly on topics of current relevance such as emerging risks related to changing consumer habits, sustainability and antimicrobial resistance.

In the second part of the workshop, participants were asked interactive questions to express their needs on emerging risks (specific products, hazards, risks) and to provide information on risks they were aware of. Based on the answers, the experts would like to further cooperate and share information and would like to participate in similar workshops in the future, as a platform for building an expert community.

The presentations are available on the DFI website under Publications.
