EFSA is looking for scientific experts
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) will renew the membership of its Scientific Panels and Scientific Committee in 2024. A call for applications was recently published on the EFSA website.

EFSA’s Scientific Committee and Panels are comprised of highly qualified, independent scientific experts committed to conducting scientific assessments and developing related assessment methodologies. Membership of these Panels/Committee is renewed every five years, with the next renewal in July 2024.

How are experts selected?

A call for applications is launched one year before the renewal. After a thorough selection process, the EFSA Management Board nominates the experts based on a shortlist submitted by the Executive Director.

Webinar

EFSA will be hosting a webinar on 7 March, aimed at candidates who are interested in learning more about the work of its Scientific Panels and Committee, as well as the procedure for selecting members.

The webinar aims to inform participants on how EFSA selects the members of its Scientific Panels and Scientific Committee and on how EFSA's Scientific Panels and Committee work and on what it means being an EFSA Panel/Committee member. It will also address any question or concerns from interested candidates, which can be submitted prior to the event via the registration form.

The event is intended for scientific experts interested in joining EFSA's Scientific Committee or Panels.
